Rewrite your body story. Drift into deeper states of connection and comfort with advanced techniques that reset tenderness, tension and pain effortlessly. From my perspective, we're unwinding core patterns that create your tight muscles and pain. But you will likely experience it as a deeply intuitive, restorative massage. My work is great for both relaxation/ self care and for people experiencing chronic pain.
I use medium to mild pressure that most people enjoy: your nervous system unlocks guarded areas more effectively when it feels safe. So we set up conditions for protected areas to relax and release, rather than "beating up" on tight, painful areas that are already feeling stressed and under threat. Using approaches like neuro-muscular and positional release therapies, my clients often achieve lasting relief. I invite you to be one of them!

Lise takes Providence and Regence BCBS.
Carisa takes Providence, Regence BCBS and some MODA plans.

Insurance does not cover no-show or late cancellation fees.
We treat and bill for injuries from Motor Vehicle Collisions. In Oregon, PIP covers massage therapy if you have a doctor's referral.

Additional 30 minutes can be added for $70, plus any applicable co-pay.

Tips for easy billing, with no surprises:
1) Do not receive multiple treatments on the same day. PTs, chiropractors, and OTs often bill the same codes as LMTs. Insurance will pay one and reject the other claims, leaving you on the hook to pay out of pocket.
2)Fill out all insurance information correctly on your intake forms.

Hello! I’m Emily, the owner and founder of Cocoon Massage. I’ve been a massage therapist since 1996. I specialize in satisfying, medium to light pressure treatments that are deeply relaxing and help you regain comfort and quality of life.

Our bodies use pain as a way to protect themselves: a great strategy in the case of injury. The pain gets your attention and shuts down the activity that caused it. However, bodies often get stuck in a reflexive loop that create pain during normal activities. This can continue long after the injury has healed.

In addition, our nervous systems often start “reading” repetitive movements or postures as dangerous, which leads to pain. This can lead to days, months or years of suffering. And that suffering is big, real, and can affect everything in your life.

My goal is to help you reset these pain loops quickly, with long term relief. And best of all, my approach emphasizes comfort. “Beating up” on a tender area only ratchets up the nervous system’s desire to guard. So we lean into providing maximum ease and comfort during treatment, and your nervous system can stop protecting, and start healing.

Most people love how they feel during and after my treatments. They report feeling refreshed and relieved of pain and tension. I invite you to try my unique approach to massage and get back to feeling good in your body and your life.
